Unforgivable Sinner
A mini character sketch of Koenma, of Yuu Yuu Hakusho

The Japanese gods do not stake the same claim to omnipotence as the lonely God of the cross, a fact which has seldom troubled their followers or themselves. Their world is a highly compartmentized kind, with each god wielding definite duties and the exact abilities to carry out such duties. In the case of Koenma, few are as acutely aware of the limitations of his powers as Koenma himself.
As Sensui and the many dark lords of Makai have shown, there is a certain naked and savage beauty to be found in unadulterated force. However, at least in Koenma's contemplation, the dimension of a god's power is not measured by the weight of one's rei, nor can it be tasted in the pungent blood dripping from an unsheathed blade. It's a foreign logic, and perhaps one that only gods are entitled to employ. It was hardly surprising, then, that Botan got quite a shock when she heard of it.
TBC... -_-
(Forgive me for the two-year lateness of this drabble. And for the TBC. I literally typed this up in the subway past midnight as I was coming home from the Thanksgiving dinner. I will finish this tomorrow on the plane trip. Happy Thanksgiving Tekko!)
