Noah's Ark (FF8 drabble, Seifer/Squall)

Haven't written Angsty!Squall in a while. So here he is.
Written for ffviii_100 prompt No.15: rain.

Title: Noah's Ark
Pairing: Seifer/Squall (what a surprise, I know)
Rating: PG-13

He laid himself down in the bathtub. The afternoon sunlight seeped through the window, heating up his bare skin. No water. No sound. Not a soul breathing.

Drowsiness crept up and he didn't fight it. He began drifting in and out of consciousness, shapeless thoughts fading.

That peace was shattered by sounds of steady footsteps. He didn’t lift his eyelids but heard the bathroom doorknob turning. The footsteps stopped at the bathtub. Stillness.

Then water came down hard. Cold first but turning warm, like a forgiving rain that drowned out everything in the world.

You can cry in the rain.
