Chapter I
Chapter II
Chapter III
Chapter IV

Some major thank-yous are in order as we begin posting the chapters (in relative quick succession, I hope).

To [livejournal.com profile] no_detective, for everything from the amazing pic spam, the even more amazing lunch meeting (in which we destroyed people's childhoods), and the beta service done with love.

To [livejournal.com profile] yevgenie, whose walls of yellow highlights strike fear into the heart of [livejournal.com profile] buoy. (Mwahahahaha)

To [livejournal.com profile] le_culdesac, for her exemplary beta service and illuminating insights for the first three chapters.

To [livejournal.com profile] arlad and [livejournal.com profile] dancinguniverse, for their patient background suggestions and debugging. [livejournal.com profile] arlad has been most gracious in providing continuous support in that area, including certain Spanish translation.

To the lovely people in [livejournal.com profile] kirkspock and some on my LJ, who gave us so much encouragement. [livejournal.com profile] little_details, for useful information gathered.

And of course, to my co-writer [livejournal.com profile] buoy, for putting up with my willful and demanding nature, engaging in mutual brain picking, and realizing the vision into text.

Oh and to Ewan McGregor, for making initial inspiration strike through his performance in Angels and Demons.

As I continue to work on this story, I can honestly say that I have been overwhelmed by the generosity and good will we've received from people, many of them strangers. This is a work born of love and about love; I hope the readers will feel that through our words.

—Renata ([livejournal.com profile] snowlight)

To all the above, and all my gratitude for [livejournal.com profile] shuraiya for all her infinite readiness, patience, and diligence.

And without question for [livejournal.com profile] snowlight: for dragging me through this leading the path to realization, and for the push in making me believe I can do this.

—Ligeia ([livejournal.com profile] buoy)

We have, to the best of our ability, done research regarding the doctrines, rituals, and practices of the Roman Catholic Church. It is our intention to portray it in an accurate and respectful manner.

Although we have consulted a number of people knowledgeable on the matter, the mistakes remain our own. Aside from the parts attributable to artistic license, we would welcome any corrections and suggestions.

Alternative Universe (or rather, pre-incarnation) story taking place in the early 2010s on Earth in New York City. Spock is a deacon in the Roman Catholic Church. Jim Kirk is the genius-level offender that drifts into his life. At 10k words and counting (although only chapter 1 posted so far), this is a love story.

Aside from our lovely beta [livejournal.com profile] le_culdesac, a multitude of people have aided us in conceiving this gigantic project. It would not have been possible for us to write this without them. Our acknowledgments and notes are to be found in the master post. All future chapters will also be linked there.

As always, all kinds of feedback are appreciated. ^o^

Title: Transfiguration (Chapter 1)
Pairing: Kirk/Spock
Fandom: Star Trek XI
Authors: [livejournal.com profile] snowlight and [livejournal.com profile] buoy
Rating: PG-13 (so far)
Status: WIP
Disclaimer: Kirk and Spock belong to each other, the story itself belongs to us, everything else belongs to Paramount.

Transfiguration
by Renata Lord ([livejournal.com profile] snowlight) & Ligeia ([livejournal.com profile] buoy)

One kind of splendor belongs to the sun, another to the moon, and still another to the stars.
