she walks in beauty
Aug. 21st, 2013 04:35 pmNetflix recommended Vanity Fair (2004) to me. Couldn't finish watching it even though Jonathan Rhys Meyers is such eye candy, but the opening theme by Sissel is just hauntingly beautiful. I never cared for the original poem much (sorry Lord Byron), so it was a truly pleasant surprise to hear it as a mesmerizing song.
She Walks in Beauty
by Sissel / Mychael Danna
She walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that's best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes:
Thus mellow'd to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.
She walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies.
