it looks like the parts that were broken were pretty severely twisted, and then pressured in order for it to fall apart like that.

Overall, I would say that the necklace is pretty well made, and it's definately hand made. I'm glad that there were no signs of the metal getting brittle or breaking apart like most cheap necklaces do, but the material that they used are highly maleable, so it does get twisted if pressure is applied.

I don't have the particular colour of metal that they've used, so I just went through the entire necklace and tightened the connections, and straightened any twists or potential breakage points.
