First impression of Istanbul: I love it, love it, LOVE IT.

So glad I'm staying in Sultanahmet, too. Five minutes walking (and that's me walking, mind you) from both the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia.

This evening, I decided to try to see the Blue Mosque. At the end of a charming European-style street, the mosque suddenly rose up before me as if in a dream, adorned by local children's soap bubbles and the golden afterglow of the sinking sun.
