Castiel, Balthazar, Michael

Maybe I should pick up SPN again now that Castiel has the opportunity of turning into a dick? I mean I like gentle!good!Castiel, but I would LOVE some bastard!sneaky!manipulative!Castiel too. What is it with me and my tendency of re-imagining my favorite characters into hardasses?

Also may want to try out Balthazar/Castiel as a pairing I think, even if Balthazar keeps reminding me of a non-annoying version of Gordon Ramsay. *shudder* In the end my Castiel love trumps my D/C love, this is sad but true. spn_balthazar seems to have some fics. I'd even take Balthazar POV of D/C because I actually find him interesting.

As for Michael, I'm still kinda living in denial. Quite easy to do actually, considering all the fearsome and beatific visions of Michael that I've found adorning so many churches. Most recently, asukajude and I visited Rosslyn Chapel on Easter Sunday. It was absolutely packed of course, but still stunningly beautiful. The depiction of Michael stood alone on one side of the nave high upon the ceiling, opposite St. Longinus, St. Mauritius, and St. George.

Two days left in Scotland. After much consideration, I've decided to forego any other tours while in Scotland. They are informative and often cost-friendly (considering the alternative modes of transportation), but there is only so much get-off-the-bus-take-your-picture-then-come-back one can take. And I mean that in a nice way.

So tomorrow I'm probably going to Glasgow on my own, do a little shopping (the rain in Edinburgh more or less ruined my much beloved current pair of shoes), have lunch, then head to Loch Lomond.

And if I'm not too tired from walking around the bonnie, bonnie banks of Loch Lomond, on Thursday I'll try to climb Arthur's Seat. If I make it, I'm totally going to sing My Land from the top: For you are my land, and you always will be.

Call it ridiculous (because it is), but that line fills me with such sheer joy because of a backstory Asuka and I (okay, mostly Asuka) created for the Holmes brothers and their father. I keep picturing Siger Holmes (a la Blood and Water) as a good man in a very simple sense, even though that is eminently debatable when one considers history, in all of its darkness and glory. But that's another post for another day. For now, let me only look over the rolling hills and the pristine lochs.
